“Ferrari are looking stronger and stronger this season. Even though Red Bull have had some upgrades recently, I feel a chasing Ferrari on maybe some fresher tyres could well take the fastest lap with the Red Bulls being a little too close to respond.”

“Last time out we saw Albon start from the pits and finish in the points securing driver of the day as well. I believe Albon has a good performance in him and finish in the points especially with a massive back straight given Williams straight line speeds”

“Given this is his home race I think Zhou will be under pressureto perform and will get into an incident trying to get some early moves in to maximise his result. It’s also a 1 in 20 shot so why not”

First Driver to make a pitstop – Logan Sargeant – Odds 13.0 – 2 Points
“Like the last round I think Williams will use Sargeant as a guinea pig with strategy and if it wasn’t for the Red flag in Suzuka, Sargeant would have been one of the 1st to pit given he started on softs, I think he will do the same here and pit 1st”

Fastest team pitstop – McLaren – Odds 6.60 – 2 Points
“This is still anyone’s game as each week it’s all top teams are very close so it’s a good gamble on McLaren as I know they have it in them and odds are decent”

“Given that we haven’t been here for 5 years and it is also the first sprint race of the season which means less running in for the drivers so I assume there will be some incidents and DNFs”

“Most of the drivers on the grid won’t have driven in China, so I’m going with a bit of chaos during the sprint sessions. Maybe the uncertainty will lead to a surprise pole (i.e. anyone not named Max Verstappen). Leclerc is due a positive performance too.”

Sprint Race Top 3 – Lando Norris – Odds 4.40 – 2.5 Points
“In keeping with my chaos theory (at least with the sprint), there could yet be more surprises. Norris is a great racer who seems to adapt quicky. With a bit of luck I genuinely can see him getting a top 3 finish in the sprint race.”

First Constructor Retirement – Haas – Odds 8.60 – 2.5 Points
“A team that hasn’t developed, with drivers who are not offering much. It could be a mechanical failure or a driver error, however, I can see Haas somehow making a hash of this race.”

“I was going to go with Alonso top 6 finish, however, the industry doesn’t want to give me any value there (I assume it’s because he’s one of the few people to have raced here). So as I’m all in to bet on larger odds rather than taking a smaller edge, I have decided to go for McLaren fastest pit stop. I’m not confident, but I can feel the betting gods giving me something here”
