Stephen’s selections:
Haas F1 Team both Cars Classified – No – Odds 3.55 – 3 Points
“I feel Haas are going to be in for a tough start to the season and I can see at least one car having an issue or a crash that prevents both cars from finishing the race.”
McLaren both cars to Finish top 6 – Yes – Odds 4.0 – 3 Points
“McLaren will be looking to put Bahrain 2023 behind them and start the 2024 off strongly. Bahrain isn’t the best track over the years even for a good McLaren car but I feel Oscar and Lando will be right on the money from the first race.”
Number of race Leaders – 1 – Odds 3.0 – 4 Points
“I can’t be the only one that is expecting Max to easily take pole and the win in this first race. I think it will be an easy walk in the park for him as the Red Bull car does perform well at Bahrain and he will want to show everyone what to expect this season.”
Luke’s selections:
Top 6 Finish – Lando Norris – Odds 1.69 – 2.5 Points
“McLaren ended last season very strong and I’m hoping McLaren continues on the good work from last year and will see the young Brit on the podium come Saturday.”
Top 10 Finish – Daniel Ricciardo – Odds 1.74 – 2.5 Points
“VCARB are going to be running a concept of the RB19 rocketship from last year and so is everyone else but given that they are Red Bulls sister team they might have some inside information, I think this year Ricciardo has a point to prove in order to get a seat in the Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen next year so I’d pick him over Tsunoda.”
Winning Margin – Over 10 Seconds – Odds 2.9 – 2.5 Points
“I think Max Verstappen will show no mercy from the get-go and with my belief that the Red Bull car is going to be way faster than the rest, he will run away with the race and finish miles in front, unless he pits on the last lap for the fastest lap which could still see him have a margin of over 10 seconds”
Fastest Team Pitstop – McLaren- Odds 4.50 – 2.5 Points
“The price here is just too good to pass up on, and they are the record holders for fastest pitstop so I believe this has great potential of coming in”
Ant’s selections:
Qualifying Winning Margin – Under 0.10 seconds – 3.25 Odds – 2 Points
“The closest part of the weekend at the top may well be who qualifies first between Max and Leclerc. Last season saw qualifying a close affair at times. It may well be that someone gets pole position by the smallest of margins.”
Pole Position – Charles Leclerc – Odds 3.55 – 2 Points
“I am starting the season with some bold choices so that I can lie to myself about Max Verstappen dominating again. Ferrari, you are my only hope. There may not be surprises this season, however, if there are I feel that Leclerc will challenge more. He was desperately unlucky with strategy and team calls last season. I want to see him win a race this year, and why not start with a statement by qualifying first? The one-lap pace of the Ferrari will be strong this year.”
Top 6 Finish – Oscar Piastri – Odds 3.10 – 2 Points
“It was the most attractive odds I could find for this market. The industry is not giving much away in the first race. There could be a battle for 2nd to 4th, which may result in a crash. If so, I think Piastri can take advantage of that.”
Fastest Lap – Charles Leclerc – Odds 7.8 – 2 Points
“Ferrari’s one-lap pace may see Leclerc take fastest lap of the race. If he is not fighting with Max for the race win, we could see him at least try to secure the fastest lap towards the end of the race. And the odds were very attractive which is a contributing factor.“
Ferrari Both Cars Podium Finish – Yes – Odds 3.60 – 2 Points
“I genuinely believe that Ferrari will be the second fastest car after Max. Leclerc and Sainz both have something to prove with the announcement of Hamilton joining next year. I expect a strong showing from them and there is value in both finishing on the podium”
