Stephen’s selections:
1st Practice Winner – George Russell – Odds 9.0 – 2.5 Points
“Russell will want to prove something this weekend as before the break Lewis has taken all the Mercedes headlines with his recent performances. He managed to qualify P3 last year so he will want to be on it from the start this weekend.”
First Driver to Make a Pit Stop – Fernando Alonso – Odds 21.0 – 2.5 Points
“Alonso had an amazing results here last season with a P2 but I cannot see him getting anywhere near close to that this weekend. He could well be one who starts on a soft to try and gain some places off the start to them pit early to try and make some undercuts to go long. He will need to try something different to get some points this weekend.”
First Driver Retirement – Logan Sargeant – Odds 12.0 – 2.5 Points
“Sargeant lasted 14 laps last year at Zandvoort, I can see him doing better this year but I still don’t see him making the end. With a very tricky track and the Williams better in the straight line he could have a struggle on race day and be the first to DNF.”
Fastest Lap – Oscar Piastri – Odds 8.8 – 2.5 Points
“Who wins the fastest lap will depend a lot on how the race plays out but I feel Lando and Max could well be fighting for the win with Piastri just in behind. This could well give McLaren the chance to pit Oscar late to make sure they take that extra point in their showdown with Red Bull until the end of the season.”
Luke’s selections:
1st Practice Winner – Pierre Gasly – Odds 150.0 – 2 Points
“After a podium finish last time out, can Gasly go out all guns blazing? I highly doubt it but it is worth a punt and with those odds, if it does come in, could propel me quite a bit forward with a good lead”
First Driver to make a Pitstop – Daniel Ricciardo – Odds 13.0 – 2 Points
“Ricciardo in races lately seems to be taking different strategies to Tsunoda to make up for either a bad qualifying or something, I could see him start on sorts on Sunday and be one of the first to pit here.”
First Driver Retirement – Max Verstappen – Odds 29.0 – 2 Points
“Is this likely to happen? No. Would it be funny? Yes. However given these last few races hasn’t gone Verstappen’s way, he would be feeling the pressure more and I could see him collide and retire the race in front of his home crowd.”
Fastest Team Pitstop – Ferrari – Odds 5.40 – 2 Points
“McLaren bet came in finally and it is time to jump on a new team. Ferrari still has a decent price and they have been always up there if not the fastest so far this season.”
Top 3 Finish – Lewis Hamilton – Odds 2.10 – 2 Points
“This is easy money I think, Hamilton’s form has been great lately and the Mercedes car has also improved a lot. I think the price is a bit too high for this and if it comes in, it could reduce the deficit for me this week if nothing else comes in.”
Ant’s selections:
1st Practice Top 3 Finish – George Russell – Odds 2.5 – 2.5 Points
“First practice is notoriously unpredictable, and with this being the first time back in a race car since the summer break I expect no different. The odds are quite favourable here so that swayed me towards this bet.”
Fastest Qualifier – Max Verstappen – Odds 2.75 – 2.5 Points
“Home grand prix and with his adoring fans, I expect Max Verstappen to make a statement and qualify fastest. As you’ll see in my other bets, I don’t think he’ll have it all his own way this weekend though.”
Red Bull Classified Drivers – 1 – Odds 9.6 – 2.5 Points
“I’m not saying that the retired driver will be Max Verstappen, and let’s face it Sergio Perez hasn’t done much right this season, however, I feel there may be a dark cloud over the Red Bull weekend come race day.”
Race Winner – Lando Norris – Odds 2.85 – 2.5 Points
“I expect Verstappen to struggle with the race pace even though I have him qualifying first. The McLaren is fast and shown that it has the race pace to win. The start of the race could be critical as to who wins. Maybe I’ve had a dream that Verstappen crashes out on lap 1”
