Stephen’s selections:
Practice 1 Match Bets – Oscar Piastri (v Lando Norris) – Odds 3.0 – 3.5 Points
“With it being the sprint weekend McLaren normally tend to split their drivers into short and long runs. It normally is Lando who does the longer runs meaning Oscar will have the better chance to be faster in practice 1”
Constructor to Retire First – Aston Martin – Odds 9.0 – 2.5 Points
“This could be a few teams but I feel Aston could be in for a bad weekend all round and a retirement early on in the main race would really add to this”
Fastest Lap – Sergio Perez – Odds 17.0 – 1.5 Points
“All the points count in the constructors battle from now until the end of the season! Perez is the most likely one out of the Red Bull and McLaren drivers to have the space behind him to pit late to take the fastest lap point away from McLaren for the Red Bull team.”
Classified as Last Finisher – Valtteri Bottas – Odds 5.0 – 2.5 Points
“Does Bottas still is looking for a seat for next season but does he really have the passion for the rest of the season with his chances of having a seat looking less and less likely? A last place finish could be possible for him this weekend”
Luke’s selections:
Q3 Winning Margin – Between 0.1 and 0.2 seconds – Odds 3.25 – 2.5 Points
“With qualifying being quite unpredictable lately and the form of Norris I think there is a good chance of it being close but not so close, or I’m completely wrong let’s see”
Driver to Retire First – Esteban Ocon – Odds 17.0 – 2.5 Points
“Ocon was the first to retire first last year after a collission with Piastri on Lap 1, I think it could be the same story or even a reliability issue for Ocon, I think Alpine are due a retirement issue”
Fastest Team Pit Stop – Ferrari – Odds 6.5 – 2.5 Points
“Ferrari have been having some decent stops and these odds are not too bad to put a bet on, so hoping this one comes in for me this weekend”
Total Classified Drivers – Under 17.5 Odds 2.75 – 2.5 Points
“I think this could be either a safe bet or a bad one no in between, this season we have had a very clean season especially with no Safety Cars for a while and there will be either some retirements due to reliability as the end of the season is approaching or there will be a few clashes”
Ant’s selections:
Fastest in Practice 1 – Charles Leclerc – Odds 7.5 – 2 Points
“I don’t expect Ferrari to challenge for a race win this weekend, however, with first practice being more about the set up of the car, and there being a few weeks off, Ferrari could could start the weekend by trying to boost their drivers confidence. Leclerc’s price is attractive for me.”
Fastest Qualifier – Max Verstappen – Odds 5.0 – 2 Points
“Although I expect race pace to be with the McLarens, Max is so good that he could snatch pole position. It will be tough, but he may show he’s still the man to beat.”
Top 6 Finish – Sergio Perez – Odds 2.5 – 2 Points
“I don’t know why I think this will come in given his performances this season, but with a bit of rest and racing in a part of the world where he’ll have a lot of support from the fans – it could spur him on to having a decent weekend.”
To Finish 3rd – Oscar Piastri – Odds 4.0 – 2 Points
“The focus for McLaren surely has to be on Lando Norris to win as many races as possible. Piastri may have to play second fiddle and aid him where possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if his race is somewhat sacrificed while still finishing in the top 3.”
Winning Margin – Over 10 Seconds – Odds 2.5 – 2 Points
“As mentioned in my previous entry, Piastri may have to be the sacrificial lamb in this race. It may come to a point where he has to keep Verstappen behind him as long as possible, and so we may see Norris fly off in to the distance and win with a large gap”
